Friends grieve and lose cohesion with their cohort if a close companion dies, weather affects in battle morale and combat stats, veterans of your cohorts can provide a calming and morale boosting effect when kept alive in battle. Adjust their Cohort specific positioning to maximize their impact and chances of survival.
